You can&amp;rsquo;t have that.&#xA;To stop a disaster before it starts, we wrap the lamp assembly in a specialized quartz glass shield.&lt;/p&gt;&#xA;&lt;h2 id=&#34;why-quartz&#34;&gt;Why Quartz?&lt;/h2&gt;&#xA;&lt;p&gt;Think of the quartz shield as a bodyguard. It keeps the scorching hot filament far away from the fumes in the air.&#xA;We use high-purity fused quartz for a simple reason: it doesn&amp;rsquo;t block the heat. The short-wave IR radiation slides right through the glass without losing much punch. You get the heat you need, but the dangerous parts stay locked away.&#xA;But here&amp;rsquo;s the real trick:&lt;strong&gt;the seal.&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;If that seal isn&amp;rsquo;t perfect, you&amp;rsquo;ve got a problem. Chemical vapors could leak inside the housing, or an electrical arc could jump to the chassis. If that happens, the lamp doesn&amp;rsquo;t just stop working—it could trigger a flash fire. We don&amp;rsquo;t take chances with that.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
