Keeping your Class 100 Cleanroom actually clean
When you’re working in a Class 100 environment, even a tiny speck of dust is a disaster. The problem is that most heaters are kind of messy. They off-gas or shed microscopic debris right when you need things to be sterile. We fixed that by pairing high-purity quartz infrared lamps with gold-coated reflectors. Why gold? It sounds fancy, but it’s actually about the physics. Gold is incredible at bouncing infrared radiation. Plus, unlike aluminum, it doesn’t oxidize. That’s a big deal. It means your heat stays consistent for thousands of hours because the surface isn’t breaking down into dust. The gold just pushes all that energy forward, hitting your workpiece hard while keeping the housing cool to the touch. The quartz side of things We use fused silica quartz for the lamps. We chose this because it handles thermal shock like a pro and doesn’t leak impurities when things get hot. You know that “burn-off” you see with cheaper glass tubes? Yeah, we don’t do that. It’s the only way to keep the air pure during high-temp cycles. A few things to keep in mind These lamps are powerful. You can hit your target temperature in seconds. But that intensity means you have to be careful with your spacing. If the lamp is too close, you’ll scorch your material. Too far, and you lose the efficiency of that gold reflector. It takes a little tinkering to find the sweet spot. We designed these to drop right into your existing curing or drying lines. Just make sure your power supply is steady. These high-purity units are a bit more sensitive to electrical noise than your average industrial heater—a voltage spike can pop a filament. And one last tip: use heat-resistant cabling. You don’t want to find out the hard way that your insulation melted near the reflector housing.
